We Believe in Collective Action
We are a collective of ambitious changemakers committed to shifting the dial towards child-centred coaching practices: not only in gymnastics but across all sport. While we are based in the UK, we are part of a growing global movement demanding safer sport systems that put the wellbeing and rights of athletes first.
We Champion Survivor Voices
Meaningful reform in sport cannot happen without the voices of those who have experienced harm. For too long, survivors of abuse in gymnastics were ignored, silenced, or dismissed when they spoke out. Yet it was their courage to tell the truth that forced the sport to confront its failures and begin addressing systemic harm.
At Gymnasts for Change International, survivor leadership is not symbolic - it is foundational. Survivors bring critical insight into how abusive systems operate, where safeguarding fails, and what meaningful reform must look like in practice. Their lived experience brings clarity, urgency, and accountability to conversations that institutions have too often avoided.
By supporting and uniting survivors, we are transforming individual experiences of harm into collective power for systemic change. This survivor-led approach ensures that reform is not driven solely by institutions seeking to protect reputations, but by those most committed to creating a sport that is safe, ethical, and centred on the wellbeing of athletes.
Because the future of gymnastics must be shaped not only by those who govern the sport - but by those who have lived through it.
We Won’t be Written Off
Gymnasts for Change International campaigns to expose how widespread abuse in gymnastics is, demonstrate the lasting harm it causes and drive the policy that ends it - both in the UK & worldwide. We are not naysayers. We are Changemakers.
Our work sows the seeds to cultivate change - because a brighter future is not just possible. It is the only acceptable outcome.
Gymnasts Deserve To Love Their Sport
This moment presents a rare opportunity. The evidence is clear. Survivors have been heard. Public awareness is growing. And the demand for change is stronger than ever.
But lasting reform will not happen on its own. It requires courage, persistence, and collective action to ensure that the lessons of the past lead to meaningful transformation - not simply promises of change.
Gymnasts for Change International exists to seize this moment. Together with survivors, athletes, advocates, and allies around the world, we are working to ensure that the future of gymnastics - and sport more broadly - is safe, ethical, accountable, and centred on the wellbeing and rights of athletes.
Because the next generation of athletes deserves nothing less.
