Unpicking the ICP: Solidarity Quilt Launch

On 30th January 2026, this online event officially launched the Gymnasts for Change International Solidarity Quilt. Kat Craig, international human rights lawyer and CEO of Athlead, provided a compelling introduction outlining the failings of the Independent Complaints Process (ICP) set up by British Gymnastics in the wake of The Whyte Review.

The second part comprises an intergenerational conversation between award-winning textile artists Jane Thakoordin (the project lead for our quilt) and Jahnavi Inniss about their work and the radical social and political history of quilting, moderated by Matilda Pye.

The event, attended by athletes and allies around the world, marked the beginning of our ICP Solidarity Quilt Making Project, which is currently underway, led by Jane Thakoordin and to be constructed by whistleblowers and their allies worldwide.
